On Paper opened in 1997 and is located in the historic Short North Arts District of Columbus, Ohio. It is an independent retail shop, privately owned by Joan Schnee. On Paper was forged out of a long time dream of Joan’s to combine her 20+ year retail career and her two hobbies - papermaking and collage.
On Paper is many things: a brick and mortar (literally!) retail shop, a full service custom stationer and a web store. With an exceptionally dedicated staff, we specialize in high quality products and service that distinguish us a true specialty shop. In addition to name brand luxury goods we buy unique and handmade merchandise and strive to support small businesses, cottage industries and individual artists.
For a small shop based in the heartland we are proud to have received
accolades and press in national publications. Town and Country,
Cookie, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, Stationery Trends and Midwest
Living have all featured our product and wedding invitation designs.
As the digital age advances at light speed, we look forward to serving
our loyal clients as well as newcomers who continue to discover the
joy of the written word and the fine art of inviting and gift giving.
We want to share our passion for paper with everyone who feels deeply
enough about what they have to say and for whom they say it to put
their thoughts ON PAPER!! |

William Shakespeare wrote at least 154 sonnets, the most popular of which are: 29, 116, 126, 130 and perhaps the most famous #18- "Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day?" Interested in trying your hand at penning a few choice words of your own? Get inspired with the Refillable Renaissance Leather Journal - a style reminiscent of the one The Bard himself might have used.
"Love this company! Wonderful selection of items and the customer service was fabulous! "
